Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone! I have not been busy. I've been a little down in the dumps, but not busy. I haven't created anything in the last couple weeks. But I will be getting back to work as soon as this weekend is over with. I have to just make it through the weekend, and I'll be okay.
I have a few ideas as to what I want to make. I want to try my hand at an art doll with a felt and armature wire body. I also want to make another Day of the Dead doll like the Voodoo Queen doll I made, and maybe a few others.. Different techniques and different looks. I have a bunch of ideas, but I've not had any "want-to".. This will get back to whatever normal is for me in a few days.. This dread that's been washed over me these last several weeks, I'm just over it. I need to get things back in gear.
I was just dropping by to let you know how things are going, and I will hopefully be posting plenty of updates in a few days! Thanks for reading!

Custom order for CATS!

Hey everyone! So I haven't been much for blogging lately, but I do believe that will change. So here's what I've been up to!
That last few days have been covered in glitter... Yeah.. friggin GLITTER. But, at least it was black glitter, lol. I had a request from a super nice lady that works at the SPCA in Pennsylvania. And she wanted 35 cat ornaments to resemble the office cat, Bugatti! Well, Bugatti is pretty darn cute, and I couldn't turn it down. So away to the craft store to get the supplies I went!
I got home, started making these ornies. I was so excited! She was so excited! And then the glitter came.. And I lost a lot of excitement. But then after the glitter, I got excited all over again! They got packaged up and shipped out today! I hope the people she's gifting these to, enjoy them!
Here's a look at them!
SO MUCH GLITTER!!!!!!!!!!!

Bugatti has a bit of his ear torn off, and she wanted me to feature that. I think it's precious!

I'm really excited about these ornies getting to go to new homes, and be loved. Everytime someone looks at their ornie, they'll think of Bugatti! And that's the best thing! I love it so much! I hope I get to do more work for the people of SPCA or any foundation that helps critters! I love it!
Thanks for reading, this is ALL I have at the moment. Working on some other things, but not far along enough to tell what lol. Have a great evening and a great week! Thanks!!

A little honesty

Hey everyone. Just a little posty post to keep this thing going.

Here's what has been going on with me. And I'm going to be completely honest with you. I try not to get my emotions too involved in my work as far as speaking goes. I think one of the things that keep people interested in what you do, is being completely honest and open with people that take the time to read my blog and look at my work. So here I go.. It's not going to be fun... Not for me anyway.
First of all, I had been with my husband since October 25th of 2010. That was the best day of my life. I had been in love with him since I was 16 years old, and being with him, I was just over the moon. We finally got married on April 7th of 2015. The second best day of my life. I couldn't believe someone actually wanted to marry my. As big of a mess I have been most of my life, he married me. I was so ecstatic! We had every day together.. A lot of people don't get that, or want that. But we had that. And I am SO very thankful for every day I got to spend with that wonderful, loving, funny, sweet, caring, creative man. He was the best person, hands down, for me. He had some health issues, and passed away on November 15th. That was the worst day of my life.. It's been the worst day of my life, every day without him since. I cry, I scream and pout, I get very angry, I get extremely sad. I don't know how to deal with this, but I have no choice but to deal. Because he's not coming back, and I can't go to him. I have a fantastic support system within my family. His father has been awesome and has helped me out a lot. My nephew who I don't get to see ever, because he lives in Florida, has been awesome, and my sweet nieces have been awesome.. My momma though, she's been the one.. The one that dropped everything and grabbed my brother and sister n law and hauled butt to me as soon as she got the phone call. My brother and his fiance, and my momma came here and stayed with me almost a week, helping me with everything. I love them so very much. There aren't enough words in the world that could convey the thankfulness and gratefulness and love and appreciation I have for them. I call my mom everyday crying in her hear, complaining..
There's something else I need to get off of my chest. My foot broke the night my husband died. I broke my damn foot. So the following day I went to the ER and was told that it was fine to walk on, with the boot, and just take the pain pills. So I was thinking it wasn't that bad.. A couple days later it doesn't hurt THAT bad, and I can walk on it pretty good.. So after about 2 weeks of me walking on my broken foot, I go to the follow up doctors appointment, and find out that the break is a lot worse than it was initially. I wasn't suppose to be walking on it, and now I'm off of it for 6-8 weeks. I have steps in my house, to my bedroom, and to the bathroom. I'm using a walker, instead of crutches and I HATE IT! I'm emotionally zapped and now I'm physically zapped (and sore). So yeah.. This is one craptastic month.
Along with all of the stuff you go through when you lose your spouse, I have a broken foot to throw in the mix. This sucks. And I have been in one hell of a dump lately.
So I will be crafting, a lot... Because really, what else can I do when I can't walk on my foot? I have to sit around and only get up when I need to.. And think.. I think a LOT... not good, folks.. I'm going mad. lol.
Anyway, that's about it. I'm not even going to proofread this. This is more of a rant than anything, anyway.. I just hope there is someone out there that reads this and either gets a kick out of it or really understands that they're not alone in the wonderful world of torture.
Thanks for reading this and for not spamming me with a bunch of hateful stuff. ;)

My first Art Doll

So in one of my Etsy Finds posts, you saw this adorable clown doll from Dark Manor Dolls. If you recall, I raved about how much I loved her. Well, I have some WONDERFUL news for myself.
I ADOPTED HER!!!!!!!! Dark Manor Dolls is having a HUGE Moving Sale going on right now, and I took complete advantage of it!
Dark Manor Dolls has 40% off of her dolls. That's a HUGE discount! So go buy your favorite doll, and leave the other clown doll alone! She's MINE!! Just kidding, she's not mine... Yet... But I want her so BAD! Just take a LOOK!!! She's ADORABLE!!!!

Okay, so here's the one I have adopted.

Just look at that adorable sweet face! I love it!!! I can't get enough of it! She's got a bendy body! I am going to be making her a whole scenery to belong to.. She's going to have a whole shelf to herself, until I get the other clown doll. :)
I'm very excited. I haven't ever collected someone else's art! This is amazing to me. I never thought I'd get this sweet doll in my hands. But she will be here shortly. I can't wait!!
So, this is my blog. I haven't been doing much but decorating for Christmas. And that's not anything worth sharing. So there that's about it. Thanks for reading!

Christmas Wreaths

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I've had some family issues to deal with.
Aside from that, I have done a little crafting.. Christmas crafting. :) Here's what I've been working on.
This is a wreath I got at the Dollar General for $3, the balls were $1 for 5, the bow I made out of ribbon I got for $1. The wreath hanger was also $1. The stuffed dog was something we found at Goodwill years ago, and I've just been setting it out for Christmas. But this year I decided I would use it in the wreath. I think he goes pretty well in there. I just hot glued the balls on and the bow, and I hung the dog from thread. Done and done. See? Simple and easy. Total cost was $6 plus the stuffed dog I don't know how much he costed.

This wreath was a little more costly and a little more involved. The wreath is a foam ring, wrapped in yarn. There's a red handmade ribbon, some colorful trees, and handmade pom poms and felt flowery things and some tiny ornaments, all hot glued on. I also cut up some tinsle and used that as a little bit of shiny. This wreath cost about $20-$25. Not too bad, considering that you can't buy them at the store like this, and if you could, they'd cost too much money.
So that's what I've been up to. Later today I will be making elf houses. Check them our on A.C. Moore to see what they look like. I'll post them when I get done! Stay tuned for them, along with some other crafting and art I am working on.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog! Have a wonderful day and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Exciting news!!

Something very exciting happened the other day! I sold my large Day Of The Dead Marie Laveau inspired doll! I put an awful lot of work into that doll, and thought she would just sit there.. Forever.. But she sold!!! She was posted for about 2 months, and she sold! I was so excited!
Things are actually working out really well for me in my shop. I've been selling figures pretty regularly. I mean, there are weeks that go by without me selling anything, but as soon as I think I've got lost in the shuffle of searching, I get a sell! It's been decent amounts, too! I have had requests for the Sassy Skelly ornaments, and I've made plenty of them.. They're for sale, folks! If you're one of the people that requested them, I've got them posted!
I've also got a request for a Jack and Sally set. I'm not sure how well they're going to turn out.. But i'm hoping I can make them look pretty awesome. And I've had orders for cats! People love cats!! So I guess I need to make more cats!
I'm loving every bit of this! The art, the creativity, the imagination, the stories I come up with! the mess, the mistakes, the learning, blogging about it, all of this makes me very happy! I have so many ideas, I write them down and sketch them out in my little sketch book, and can't wait to get them made! I have never really loved making something, more than working with clay.
I did venture out of my box a little bit. I got black clay! It's not paper clay, I'm not sure what kind of clay it is.. I haven't opened it yet, because I've been trying my best to get my crafting area organized so I know where things are, and I can stop making messes.
I've had a huge mess on my crafting table, and it was so bad that I couldn't even find the table! So I went to Family Dollar, grabbed some of those clear shoe boxes, and one of those tiny drawer sets, and i've been getting everything organized. It's not done.. But it's getting close!
Once I get my stuff put up and my table cleaned off, I'll make the figures I have requests for, and I'll post progress reports! Because Jack and Sally are going to be new for me, I'll be posting plenty. I would like to keep track of my progress, as well as share what I'm getting done. If anyone has any suggestions along the way, I hope they're share them with me!
If any of my customers by chance, read my blog, I would love to thank you for your support! You have made me extremely happy and proud and confident about my work. I couldn't get validation from any other source. It makes me so happy to know that my hard work and imagination and ideas aren't just messes I come up with. Other people actually enjoy my work! Thank you so much for giving me the confidence I  need to keep trying to get better, with every piece I make.

Etsy Finds #3

I'm going to start this Etsy Finds blog off with something that my husband wants so bad. I'm hoping one day, I can afford to get it for him, and build it for him, and surprise him with it. I think that'd make him the happiest man on earth.
MST3K Tom Servo Robot Kit is the place to get this! If you're an MST3K fanatic, this is the place for you. Seriously.. This person also has an ebay shop. I don't know what it's called, but just search the tom servo kit. You'll find it. And to this person, I would like to say THANK YOU!!! One fine day, I will get this for my husband and build it, and surprise him. He will love me forever and ever. :)

This next Etsy Find is AWESOME!!! If you like Prince, you'll like this doll.
Is where to go to find this Prince art doll. Also, you can find a few different David Bowie dolls, a Dave Grohl doll and "Selfie" dolls. They're pretty awesome. I would love love LOVE to have the Ziggy Startdust Bowie and this Prince doll. This artist does amazing work. Go check them out! PRONTO!!! Purple raaaainn!!!

makes these dolls.. HOLY MOLY! They're AWESOME! That Manson doll is spot ON! I love these. They're done VERY well, and they look AWESOME. They're mind blowinggggg. I can't get over the Amy Whinehouse one too.. Sheesh.. Great work. They do other work too. Check out their shop, get you a doll!

Coraline Other Mother Set Doll Inspired Creepy cute OOAK Handmade Art doll cloth doll collectible Gothic doll decor gift rag doll
made these AWESOME Coraline Dolls. I adore these! They're very different from Coraline, but you can tell what they are as soon as you see them! I love this. You know, it's great when an artist can make something familiar their very own. It's a job well done. And hopefully one day, I can have a set of my own. :) I love the other mother. She's done VERY well. So go check out this shop, there's other dolls!

If you haven't noticed, I love cloth dolls. I think they're great, and one of my favorite things. Also, Tom Servo is top notch. I mean, who doesn't want their very own Tom? I KNOW I DO! I know my husband would LOVE it! I'll do another ina few days on something other than cloth dolls :)
Have a great day!!

More Creepy Christmas!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to say, HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!!! Whoever you're voting for, I don't care. I still like you.

So today, I worked my fingers to the bone. Actually... No I didn't.. I just made a set of Christmas Ornaments. I'm happy with them. I hope someone else will be, too.
So, what do you think? I think they're charming. These were actually plain white skulls from Walmart, in the Halloween section. They came in a bag of like 17 I think.. I am keeping the other.. I figured, out of all the ornaments I'm making, I might as well keep some for myself. These are available in my Etsy Shop.

Here's how I made them..
I cleaned them with soap and warm water, washed all of the whatevers were on them.  Once they dried, I spray painted them with gold metallic paint, let them dry, and hit them again. I took these little tiny screw eye hook things and screwed them in the bottom of each skull, behind the jaw line.
I hit them with gold paint again. Then i started the fun part.. Making the little felt hats! I cut out three red felt circles, cut them in half, sewed the straight edge together. made a little teepee. I took the bakers twine, tied a knot in the end, then sewed it to the inside of the hat, making sure to pull the string to where it would come out the of the top, on the outside. So then i sewed on a little black pom pom and glued it to the skull. Once i got that done, I took more bakers twine, tied little bells to the screwed in eye hook things on the bottom. Then i made some clown collars. I just used a fat quarter, and cut six equal strips, folded them in half inside out, then sewed that closed, leaving the ends opened. I turned it right side out, sewed down along the seam, to flatten it out. Then I sewed the ends together to close it up. I basted along the same seam, and gathered it up, then I pulled the bell through the center, and glued the collar on to the bottom of the skull. Whew! That's what I did! So, if you don't want to do this, and don't have the skulls.  I have them already done! Go check them out!
Thanks for reading, everyone! I appreciate the traffic! It makes me happy to know that someone, ANYONE is out there reading my nonsense.

Remember, the election is ALMOST over. Just a few more hours.. Be nice.

New Skellies and a Day of the Dead doll

So here I am, sitting in my recliner, thinking about blogging.. Hungry..
I decided that I'd go ahead and blog, to see how I feel about eating when I get done. Maybe my hunger is based on boredom. We'll see..

So I got a lot of these plastic skeletons on jute. That Skeleton Garland stuff you get at the Dollar Tree. I love it. It's so fun to take these little skeletons and make them into someone. Like these prissy dancing Skellies I created today.
They are CUTE! I think these might be my favorite ones yet. Here's why.. I'm kind of in love with the Rockabilly fashion, and these remind me of it.. A LOT. The hair is bright and colorful and fun. The eyes are so shiny! The skirts though, that's what sets them apart, in my opinion. They're adorable and are going to be cute on someones Christmas tree.
(Side note: Beefaroni doesn't taste as good as I remember.)
Here's how I got their bodies to have bends in the limbs.
1. Get a medium sized pot, and fill it half way with water, get the water to boil. A good water temp for this project is keep the water at a light boil or a simmer, whatever you call it where it's not raging. Get a big mixing bowl, and put a lot of ice in it, and a lot of water.
2. I popped the ribs off of the spine. The ribs and arms are attached, the legs pop into the hip bone attached to the spine, and the head pops off. Pop the head off, too. Water gets in there and leaks everywhere when you're gluing things on. I learned that the first time I did this for Halloween.
3. I put the legs in first. I left them attached to the spine, because I didn't want to take a chance on them breaking and not getting them to pop back in. I let them boil for about 3 minutes before I took a pair of tongs and fetched them out. WEAR HEAT RESISTANT GLOVES!!! these monkeys get hot! Plus, you're working with boiling water.. Don't be a dummy and burn yourself doing something mindless.
4. Once the legs bent pretty easy at the knees, I held them in place, and dunked them into the ice water bowl for about 15 seconds.. Now, when you bend their knees, elbows, wrists, whatevs.. You need to exaggerate the bend, because when you let go, it will unbend a little. Once I get them set in the ice water, I set them back into the boiling water for just a second, then I dunk them back in the ice water for a second, hen let them dry on a towel.
5. Same thing with the arms as the legs..
6. Once you get that done, and they're dry, you can assemble them back together. And there's your dancing skellies.

Soooooo, hunger was based on hunger. Not boredom. :) but I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat the rest of this gross Beefaroni. Why do they change things? It used to be so good..

These skeletons are available in my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/Woollyghoulie

Thanks for reading!! I appreciate it!!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!! This is about as Halloween decorated as I got this year. Been too busy to break out the spooky stuff. So this was a doll house that i received from my mother in law, and I made it a Haunted Halloween House! I painted it, took some scrap booking stuff and glued it to it, and stuffed some Sassy Skellies in there! I added some creepy spooky landscape to the outside of it, and even a trick or treater!

Just thought I'd share some Halloweeny stuff. Even though this is out all year long here, I thought tonight was a great time to share what I made. This is an embroidered and painted picture! I found this image on the ol' interwebs one day last year, and embroidered it. I like the b/w picture better, but I thought you might want to see it in color, too! Painting isn't very detailed, but I like it. :)

This little pumpkin head is something I've been working on, trying to get it where I actually like it.. But I'm not sure why I DON'T like it.. Something weird is going on.. I'll finish her, but I'm not sure if she'll get posted to sell..

So that's all I've got for tonight.  I have some things in the works that I haven't gotten far enough along to show, because you wouldn't be able to tell what it is.. But Maybe in a few days, when I can get back to my crafting, I can share it. Nothing BIG, just kind of creepy :)
Oh hey! If you have Halloween pictures, post them in the comment section! I haven't been able to get out and dress up in a few years, and I'd really love to see some cool costumes! I hope everyone had an awesome night and stayed safe!! Thanks for reading my blog! I'd appreciate it if you'd comment and tell me what you think!

Etsy FInds #2

I hope everyone enjoyed the Etsy Finds I did yesterday. I enjoyed it enough to want to do another one today! There are a few artists I wanted to share immediately, because I didn't do it yesterday. The blog got a little long yesterday, and I think shorter ones are more enjoyable.

So here we go for today's Etsy Finds. (Everything can be found in the links provided)

This is my favorite piece from this artist. I can't explain it. It's the best ever. This is from Sharon Bloom Designs . She does amazing work with ceramics. She makes brooches, jewelry, plates, figures, bowls and other things. She's extremely nice, also. She has offered advice to me, if I needed help with my crafting, she's the one I'd ask. She's extremely talented and just as sweet. You should check her shop out.

This sweet little kitty is from PaperMoonGallery and I love her. I love all the little kitties and puppies in this shop! If I could, I'd buy them all up! They're adorable and precious and sweet! I don't know anything about this artist, other than they make adorable little figures. Cats and dogs aren't all they make. There' a ton of different ones in their shop, you just have to check it out!

This is a doll from Dark Manor Dolls. I LOVE THIS DOLLLLL!!!! Okay, now that I've made that clear... I think she does beautiful work with these cute dolls. She's got plenty to choose from, they're all unique and different. This one is my favorite. So, if anyone wants to get me something for Christmas, this would be great! I don't know anything about this artist, either.. Only they do amazing work. I think that needs to be shared as much as possible. Check out Dark Manor Dolls!

Okay, so this is going to be it for today. I have some things I have to get done, and dolls I have to work on. SO! Playing on the computer today isn't much of an option. Have a wonderful Sunday and I hope you check out these artists and support them! Thanks for reading my blog! Check out my etsy shop, too! Just click on the link on the right side of this post! TatA!!!!

Etsy Finds Halloween

So, I spend a LOT of time on Etsy. I post my stuff, look at other peoples work, get inspiration and find stuff I want for myself. So I figured, since I spend so much time looking at other artists stuff, I should just share what I fall in love with.

Here are some things:

This is a shop my mom has on Etsy. It's Boho Gypsys Creations , and she creates soaps, bath salts, bath fizzy bombs and she does amazing work on handmade quilted purses. She will be adding some actual quilts in there eventually. But she's constantly adding soaps and bath fizzies and stuff like that. She uses palm oil based soap and adds essential oils that are combined to create relaxation, soothing and calming. She sends me samples occasionally and my most favorite is the Lavander and MAgnolia soaps.. She uses all natural ingredients and keeps her prices EXTREMELY affordable. I placed and order with her a few days ago for these skull soaps, and a few others. They will be used for freebies when someone buys a figure I've made in my Etsy shop! Also, I'll keep some myself, and use them.

This awesome little painting belongs to DCBARTSTUDIOS . It's one of my favorite paintings of pumpkins. You should check out their other stuff!!

This cool looking guy is from Willow Hollow Creations . I had the pleasure of having a small chat with her when she purchased a pumpkin boy from me. She makes some really unique goblets, like this one, and some others. She also makes table runners, and they look very, very cool.
Check her shop out!!

This cute lil lady belongs to a shop called Delightfully Odd Clay . I fell in love with this when I saw her! She's so cute!! She has made a few other items that I fell in love with. Her work just blows my mind. You should check this shop out, too!!

This awesome marionette belongs to Czech Marionettes . The work that someone has done to create this Frankenstein Monster, it freaks me out, to be honest. I can't find the words to describe how much I love this marionette. It's way out of my price range, understandably, because of the work gone into it.. But if it weren't, it'd be mine!! I absolutely love him. I collect Frankys and he would make my collection the best EVER!! You should check out the other work they've got listed.. Every single marionette is a masterpiece. It truly is. Check them out!!

So that's today's Etsy finds.. I will continue to do these Etsy Finds occasionally on artists I find. There's way more to come, I promise! Stay tuned, share these artists pages, so they're not starving!!

Some Sassy Skellies in Tutus! DIY instructions

I had an extra pack of Skeleton Garland hanging out, and thought to myself that they looked awfully inappropriate and bald. So I had to do something about it!!!

I had some roving  i wasn't using for anything, a BUNCH of glittery black tulle, and a sheet or rhinestones that have sticky backs that don't sticky too well.. So I decided I would spice these nude, bald skellies up!
WoollyGhouliesCreepyCreations
First I took  the skellies off of the jute they were tied up on, and replaced that with single stands of ricrac in pink and white ribbon.. So they're single now.
Second, I took a tiny bit of roving ( in four different colors) and wrapped it around my finger, put glue on the skull around the loop that holds the ribbons, and slid the roving over the ribbon, down on the skull.  I finished the hair off with a spritz if hairspray.
Third, I took some scrapbooking rhinestones, and glued them into the eye sockets.
WoollyGhouiesCreepyCreations
Finally I cut out a strip of tulle, long enough to cut into four equal sections that would wrap around the hips of each skeleton twice. Then I took some thread, a needle, did the whole gathering thing, sewed the ends together in the back.
WoollyGhouliesCreepyCreations
That's it! That's all it took. These are already sold. I can't find any more skeletons, or I'd make a TON of these little ladies. Does anyone know where these are available online year round??
I'd love to get a bunch more, and use these as some freebies, and maybe sell a few here and there.
The lady that purchased these, she's putting them on her Halloween tree that she's also using for Christmas. :) Makes me happy! I love hearing what my customers are doing with their purchases. I like to know the back stories of why my pieces spoke to them. It's great knowing someone else has the same kind of twisted weird humor I do. :)
Anyone have any ideas they want to share for using your Skeleton Garland? Post them in the comment sections, and let's share our ideas!! Post pictures if you want! I'd love to see what you've done for Halloween decorations!!!
Thanks for reading!

Christmas in the works!

Hey everyone. I've been kind of busy with some figures I'm making. So I haven't really had time to post much, lately. I've been working on some simple Christmas ornaments, and some figures.. Here's a quick look at some of my stuff. :)

These are some Cat ornaments or wall plaques that I made. They're both strung up to hang, as you can see. They're about 4" wide, and 3 1/2? tall. They hang at 7" total, from bottom all the way up to the stick pins you see. The black one is glittered to death, sealed and the glitter does not come off. The white one is covered in that synthetic snow people use in their Christmas villages, sealed and not coming off. (For sale in my Etsy Shop )

This is Chris Kringle and Frosty! I absolutely LOVE the way this little set came out. I didn't want to go with the regular ol fat hairy Santa in a bright red suit trimmed in fur. I wanted something where Chris Kringle would have a day off. Yep, he's not Santa today. He's just Chris. He's wearing a felt hat I hand sewed. Frosty is wearing a clay hat.. I wanted whimsical for him. I hope I achieved that! I think so. He's also wearing a little white and red scarf. The base wasn't originally going to be covered in glitter, because I hate working with glitter.. But my husband insisted it be covered in glitter.. To look like snow.. SO there's your snow Hunny!

A closer look at that cute little Frosty!

A closer look at that handsome ol Chris! This set is available in my Etsy shop also.

This is Frosty, he's also another mini figure. He's sold already, but if you're interested, I can make another one similar to this one. He's adorable and so sweet looking. He's holding little foam balls
I covered in glitter to look like snowballs. He's holding them in his skinny little snowman arms that are attatched with DMC thread and button.

I love the way his base turned out, looks like ice. He's on a 4" wooden base, and stands about 5" tall. I think you can still see the listing, even though he's sold..

I've made some other figures, and I'll post about them next. I have one more Christmas one done, and some other figures, not holiday related.

I did sell my Day of the Dead couple last week, and that made me extremely happy! I hope the lady who purchased them are enjoying them as much as i did! I miss them, but I'm glad they went to a good home. :)
I will be making more cats, snowmen, santas, gothic girls and pumpkin headed creatures soon. Also, I've got a few Christmas tree ornaments in the works, and I'm trying to get them finished up. But I'm really excited about Halloween, and it's hard to transition from that to Christmas. I'm doing my best though. I'm hoping to get a bunch Christmas stuff made, so I can sell it locally, and on Etsy and Ebay. We have an EBAY shop! And as soon as I get some Christmas stuff posted in it, I'll give the links.

Halloween Dolls!

So I've been busy making stuff for a custom order and working on some other things. Here's some of the other things!
Meet Marie Laveau! She's my Day of the Dead Inspired Voodoo Queen.

Her crown is made from wire, beads and metal spikes. There's polymer clay skulls at the center.

This is her in all her glory. Hand sewn and machine sewn dress, ribbons galore, beaded necklace, skull and cat. Her base is painted like a spider web. Her dress is a black top with a high ruffle collar, her skirt is a three tiered skirt in purple orange and black.
Her hair is a kid mohair and wool roving hand felted wig.

This is her big sister! Witchy Poo!

She's made the same way as Marie Laveau. Just slight differences. Dress and skirt are machine and hand sewn. Se has a kitty and a skull, and a skull necklace.

She has a witches hat, she's wearing a gray and black dress, purple and black stocking. Her hair is also kid mohair hand felted.

So.this is what I've been up to. They will both be listed in our ebay shop for a week. And if they don't sell there, I will list them I'm my easy shop.

Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! BEETLEJUICE!!!!!

So I made something I thought would be pretty neat. Wanna see? Let me show you.
Beetlejuice inspired Potted Plant.
Its tentacles are paper clay, the moss is real moss, dyed red, the pot is a little terra cotta pot I painted black, and there's green floral foam in the pot, to hold the tentacles in place.
I posted this yesterday, and within the first hour, someone purchased it. I had plans for three more, but I busted two pots, so now I only have one more. I'm working on it right now. I renewed the listing in case someone else wants one right now. I'm going to get more pots and moss in different colors. I will be making plenty more. So if you want one in any specific color, let me know. Each ones tentacles will be unique and different from the others. I will paint them in the same style as this one, or whatever, polka dots. Solids, whatever. I'm easy to get along with.
They're cheap, and small. So you can put it in your window sill, on your desk, or on a shelf. They can really go wherever. Great for Halloween!!!
Check out the listing in my shop

Sweetie the Kitty is Sold

I sold one of my favorite figures, yesterday!
This sweet little baby is going to Florida!

I'm in love with this face.

She has a long tail that I love, too!

And she's got dinner!!!
Sweetie is made of paper clay. I made her tail with armature wire, and wrapped clay around it. She's on a wooden base, with a polymer clay bead and a paper clay fish. Everything is painted in acrylic paints, and sealed with Mod Podge sealer. I painted her in vivid colors and pretty designs. Her base is black with gold trim around the bottom.

She sold, and I couldn't be happier about it. She's going to be a gift to someone's friend who lost her very own kitty not too long ago. I think that's a very sweet gesture.
There's good in humanity after all, and I get to be a small part of it. It's a really nice feeling knowing that someone saw something I created, with my own hands, and thought they'd get it as a gift for a friend. Something I made, that has made me so happy, is going to go make someone else happy now. That's a really cool feeling.
Thank you to the customer who saw her and decided she was what you were looking for.

Paper Clay Makes Me Happy

Hello, you.

Today, I wanted to talk about how I became interested in sculpting my little figures, and why I use what I use, and also to show you the latest creations.

So I'm really interested in Day of the Dead. Not just the sugar skulls and decorations, but the whole thing. In case you aren't really familiar with El Dial de los Muertos, here's a link to the encyclopedia webpage for it. It explains it pretty good. So in was on Etsy looking at Day of the Dead figures, came across one from Myriam Powell. Her work inspired me to try my hand at working with clay. So I went to Walmart, grabbed some oven bake clay by Sculpy, and read a little bit.. I learned the basics.. extremely basic, basics. I went from there, with my oven bake clay, and made my first Day Of The Dead lady. I love the way she turned out. She was specifically for me, she will never be sold, or given away. My first work of clay. I was so proud of her, I hand sewed her dress, her hair was wool roving, and I make her a flower crown with rose buttons..
I thought "hey, this turned out awesome, I had fun, I like this!" so I continued with it. I think I got better and more creative with my ideas, and I put more details in my work now. It took me a while, a few experiments with different mediums and techniques. But I finally found one that I really, really like. I use Das Paper Clay by Prang. It works well in my hands, I can get the details I want, I can paint it, it dries nicely, it's not smelly and it's affordable. I can get a two pound block for $7.48 at my local A.C. Moore. A.C. Moore is the only store I buy my clay from, because it's always in stock, and it's the cheapest. If you have an A.C. Moore around your town, and you haven't been in there, you're missing out. They are my absolute favorite place to shop.
I wanted to share some of the latest things I've made. I'm really happy with they way they turned out, and it will pain me to part from them. It will be worth it, though, for someone else to enjoy them.
My Eye Plant Monster. I can't come up with a better name than that. Sorry!
I'm happy with the way he turned out. I think the eight colors work well against the dark base. His eyeball glows!!

This is my Skeleton couple. They make me happy. I think they turned out exactly how I imagined them to. The details on the base, the spider web with the spider hanging down the back of his skull, her flower on her skull and dress. I love it all.

And this one, I made her for my momma. Out of all the figures I've made, she's got to be my cutest.
She's only about five inches tall, and my mom loved the lotus on the big skull so much, I did a version of the same on this one for her. I hope she enjoys this!

So, if you look at my Facebook page, and see the stuff I've made, you'll see a lot of pumpkin heads. I LOVE making pumpkin heads. I think I do really well with them, and they seem to be a hit with most people that see my work. I've got a couple more I've got to finish up, and then I'll post them. But I have a really cool one I'm working on now. It's inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and my husband. He IS my husbands idea. There are a few of my figures that are his ideas. As I make them, I ask him if it's how he wants it to look, and he guides me along with what he thinks it should be. I love collaborating my hands with his brain. It always turns out amazing. I will blog about him and his brain that helps me create these pieces in a separate blog, once I get this latest one done. Then you can see his work mixed with mine!

So that's what I've got for now. I hope you enjoyed it, and don't forget to check out my Etsy Shop and my Facebook page. I have a contest going on now until the 30th of September for a zombie candy corn, so go follow, like, share and tag someone on my post and page!!! You could win!!! I only ship within the United States though.. sorry!!
